Community

Community outreach is a big part of who we are. At GTP Foundation we believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn the game of tennis and enjoy it as a lifelong sport. We also believe that those who have a passion for the game should be able to pursue it to the best of their abilities. Through tennis, we believe we can improve the lives of young people by teaching them valuable life skills, giving them a safe place to play and helping them to pursue educational opportunities through their love of tennis. Kids helping kids in the community is also an important aspect of GTP Foundation. Our advanced student athletes help teach our outreach programs throughout the year. We believe in teaching kids to give back and when they do, everyone benefits!

Serving Up Success

Starting in the summer of 2019, GTP Foundation started a program called Serving Up Success to eliminate summer learning loss. Fourteen elementary age students were treated to red and orange ball tennis clinics, healthy snacks and a full math, reading and science curriculum during a full day camp over 6 weeks. The students all showed excellent progress in their math and reading skills as well as their tennis skills! Most importantly they had a great summer! For the summer of 2021, we have expanded this program and are doing TEN WEEKS for 17 kids! We are so excited to be able to extend and grow this program.

Low Cost Beginner Clinics

Throughout the entire year GTP runs low cost, high quality beginner clinics at multiple locations throughout Greensboro. This includes Spencer Love Tennis Center, Dudley High School, Peeler Recreation Center, and Latham Park Tennis Center. Our goal is to reach as many students as possible and if they are interested, take them through our junior pathway.

Tennis & Pizza Parties

On Friday nights, GTP Foundation offers tennis and pizza parties to give kids more opportunities to play tennis. Sign up is available week to week depending on court availability! We have an awesome time at these events.
